ROV Inspection and NDT Service
Metal Thickness Gauge Inspection
SubNet use ROV's coupled with Cygnus Instruments thickness probes to target applications, such as:
- Metal Thickness Corrosion Checks on Offshore Structures, Ships and Wrecks
- Sheet Pile
- Safety Corrosion Monitoring of Pipelines and Storage Vessels
- Metal Thickness Wear Checks on Jetties, Dock Gates, Piers, and Pilings
- Ships Classification Surveys
- Maintenance and Safety Checks on Bridges.
The system is less expensive than the cost of diving excursions to measure thickness underwater and is
especially useful for portable water tank and pipe inspections. Other applications being, testing wall thickness
of fuel tanks on sunken vessels, bridge, pile and oil rig member inspection. The underwater system uses a technique known as Multiple Echo, (insisted on by DNV) which allows metal thickness
measurements to be taken without first removing coatings. The unit is pressure tested to 500 meters. Dedicated
software displays the time, date and thickness readings on the surface, and all readings can be recorded for
reporting on DVD, CD ROM and incorporated to ROV recorded position data.
Cathodic Protection Potential Measurements
With a CP Probe (contact or proximity) on the ROV Subnet are able to carry out underwater cathodic protection
potential measurements in a wide range of applications.
Flooded Member Detection
With a Flooded Member attachment on board the ROV Subnet are able to use a non-intrusive technique, which
minimises both the time and therefore the cost associated with inspecting the integrity of steel jacket members.
SubNet are able to determine the extent of water ingress into steel members by ROV.
- Quick, reliable and easy method of assessing water ingress into the steel members
- No need to remove marine growth before measurement
- Allows instant diagnosis of member condition
- Only takes a few seconds to measure each member
